The Last Day
I woke up this morning, having forgotten the Stay in the Moment we had to get moving. We had people to meet mainly, the South Team and my parents.

This morning was cold. Everything was frozen. Water bottles, tents, stoves, I think if we weren't so excited about seeing everyone, we would have probably waited until it warmed up a little. Our guide drove in and met us, and we quickly got back on the trail.

It seemed all uphill. Little did I know that we would climb our highest summit of 11,000 ft. in elevation. When we reached that point, the wind was blowing so hard, Rob took out the flag that we had been carrying with us and held it up as though his hands and arms were the pole and it flapped so majestically on the mountain summit. After the hugs and tears, we scrambled down the other side. As we practically ran down, Dave Mensing was running up to meet us. We were late! We had to hurry; we were still far away from where we needed to be.

We got into the Hondas and drove a half mile were we got out again and did a cross country hike for a of a mile. Then back in the Hondas to meet Forest Service rangers where we took ATVs on a 5 mile section, which took us straight for showers. After showers, we drove and then had to get out again hiking our last cross country section together. We ran back to the Hondas and drove to meet the South Team. After our big meeting and rejoining, I saw my parents in the background. I think seeing them I really finalized the end of the trip.
