A mother of two boys, 45-year-old Julie Overbaugh is a licensed registered nurse with 19 years of experience in Emergency Medicine. Married to Bill Overbaugh, she holds degrees in biology, psychology, and nursing. She has extensive outdoor experience in the Southwest and in Alaska. Julie has a particular interest in teaching children outdoor skills and the values of public lands and wild places.

Julie says about American Frontiers: "The opportunity (to participate) would also enable me to teach Americans, particularly school children about the values that our public lands hold for all of us. I would hope to show that this unique concept of public lands is a truly American value, and it symbolizes the freedom we enjoy as citizens."
