Back in the Saddle Again

Rob, Charlotte, and Ravi update their journals before it's time to hit the trail again

Team North is fixin to hoist their saddle-sore selves back on top of another team of horses and continue south. After a marathon 137-mile pack trip through the Bob Marshall Wilderness, the team has become a group of experienced packers, and the 20 miles they'll cover today and tomorrow will seem like a piece of cake.

They'll be travelling through the Helena National Forest along the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, which like the American Frontiers route stretches from Mexico to Canada. But the Continental Divide is the watershed point for the whole country-- to the east of the trail, the rain runs into the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west of the trail, the rain runs into the Pacific. The Continental Divide Trail was built mostly by volunteers, and was finished a couple of years ago.
